Leske's Bakery

NORWAY

You get a distinctly Scandinavian sense from Leske's, with it's Swedish colors and Norwegian flag out front, as well as a wide selection of danishes inside. This portion of Bay Ridge's past is not so evident anymore, and actually quite absent even here, but it's still a fun bakery to browse.

It has some cookies, many cakes, and little charm, but is a hub of elderly ladies in search of sweets. It's the type of place that everyone offers everyone else the chance to go first. Politeness is paradigm. One of their delicious danishes (below) will only set you back $1.70.
