The Bent Spoon

If Appleby's became a small artisan ice cream shop, it would be much like The Bent Spoon in Princeton, NJ. The people here wear a ton of "flare," the place is gawdy, has knick-knacks everywhere, and is full of cheer beyond belief. There must have been 20 people working behind the counter at this tiny place, and I felt like I was walking all over the customers in what was like rush hour on the 4/5 line.

The good news is that the ice cream is fantastic. They serve small portions, but have plenty of interesting flavors that you won't find anywhere else. The park across the street is a perfect place to sit and enjoy your dessert with the rest of the folks milling about picturesque Palmer Square.

Below is my brazil nut and red cabbage apple combination:

  1. I've been there many times and have not noticed the decor. All eyes are on the ice cream case.
